Children
The children in our church are not just the future–they are actively included in the ministries of the church today. As such we have the following activities available for the children of our church.
Children’s Sabbath School
Children’s Sabbath School, which conducts spiritual education for our children, is a priority of the Akron First congregation. Our children’s classes, which meet at 9:30 am on Saturday mornings, are uniquely tailored to each child’s age. Our goal is to lead our children into a growing relationship with God and fully integrate them into the life of the church in the context of a safe and fun environment. The children are taught about Jesus in very dynamic and creative ways, and look forward to coming to learn more about Jesus with their friends.
The Sabbath School classes are organized as follows:
- Cradle Roll - Ages 0 to 3
- Kindergarten/Primary - Ages 4 to 9
- Juniors - Ages 10 to 8th grade
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is offered each summer (usually in July) for the children of our church as well as children of other churches and in the community. Each day, for an entire week, the children in VBS will have an opportunity to sing together, play together, make crafts and learn about Jesus - all while having an incredibly fun time!
Adventurers
Adventurers is a youth program for boys and girls who are age 5 - 9. Our club meets twice monthly to work on awards, have fun and learn about Jesus and His love for us.
